Today's Big Event

Today's the Day: Kindergarten Registration! And me, Miss Organization forgot about all our "essential forms" to take with us, lest we be cast out of the elementary. I forgot to call and get a copy of her immunization record. Normally the pediatrician's office is good about faxing stuff in a timely manner, but some days they're swamped and don't get around to it. I hope today's not one of those days. And then there's the birth certificate, social security card (exactly WHY do I need to take this? She's going to kindergarten, not applying for government security clearance), and proof of residency (because we're in the good elementary and they want to keep the riff-raff out, I guess). So that means I have to make a trip with two antsy children (one who talks VERY! LOUD!) to the very quiet bank where I actually have to go in and get these documents from the safe deposit box. Fun times to come later today! Lulu is very excited about all this and does not understand that we are just going to get registered, not actually start school. She will, no doubt, leave in tears when we are done. I'll let you know how it went in tommorow's post.
