I'll take contagious diseases for $500, Alex
We were awakened at 1:00 Monday morning to Macie crying this high-pitched squeal and barking like a seal. She said her throat hurt. A few Advils later, she was zonked out again. She came into our room about 4:00 and slept the rest of the night on our floor. She ran a fever of 100-103 all day yesterday. Yes, Grandmothers, we went to the doctor yesterday afternoon and the diagnosis is croup, unless the strep test comes back positive. So far, it hasn't. She slept alright last night, but woke up miserable at 5:30. She's very hoarse today, but her fever is only 100. The doctor gave us some steroids to keep the swelling in her throat down, so she's not coughing like she was yesterday. She is home from school today and other than being pretty tired, she's feeling much better.
All in all, it was a pretty uneventful/relaxing weekend. Went to Home Depot and bought 4 bags of sand to refill the sandbox. Last year's sand has washed away and/or been deported to various areas of the yard. Macie and her Grammy had a playdate with Grammy's friend and her 3 year old little boy on Satuday. Maggie and I went to Sams and bought laundry detergent for Mount Washmore that is to be tackled as soon as I quit procrastinating. Kevin went to the beer lease and hunted the world's smartest turkeys (they see 8 at a time on their feeder cameras, but they leave town when the guys get there) and got home Sunday afternoon. We went to Best Buy and looked at cameras and then went to Penny's and looked at luggage. Kevin's going to Las Vegas this week on business and our luggage has been through one too many airports. He's very excited about going--his company does everything first class at these meetings. He's staying at the Venetian and they are supposed to be entertained and fed very well. Of course, I wouldn't know first hand because HE NEVER LETS ME GO! Sunday was so nice and the girls begged to play in the sprinkler even though the water is about 40 degrees. Here are some pictures. Anyway, on to another week!
Aaaahhhh! ... the leisure life of a "housewife". Nothing to do but bon-bons and soap operas!!
