As promised.....The Cronicles of The Dining Room Table Situation
We have no dining room table. This has been fine up until a couple of months ago. But now, we really NEED a dining room table. And we really WANT a dining room table. Our dining room is and has been an office/playroom with my good china in it (how smart is THAT with two toddlers?) ever since Maggie was in utero. Her room used to be the office, but I don't think she would appreciate a fax machine going at 11:00pm. We often entertain in our humble abode, but people always end up sitting on the couch, the floor or outside when we congregate. So for the past few months we have been on a search for a dining room table and chairs. We want something nice and we're able to spend the money for something nice right now. The problem is, the dining room table we want DOES NOT EXIST. Kevin and I have spent a whole day in about 471 furniture stores across the metroplex. The ones we liked were, of course, nine hundred thousand dollars (not including the chairs) and the ones in our price range were either a) ugly as sin, or b) one of us didn't like it (usually Kevin). We have decided that it would be smart to look in the paper for something used. Now granted, i've only looked a couple of times, but the only thing people sell is their ugly, beat up stuff from 1985. Anyway, my lovely mother in law called today with a possible lead and i'm waiting on a call back about that. WELL..... if/when we get said table, we have to find a space for "the office". "The office" is quickly expanding because of our new venture (big, fat, development about that today....whoo hoo!) and we need more room anyway. So, the plan is to move the office back into Maggie's room, and move Maggie in with Macie. So, we will have to get Macie a twin bed and all that that implies. So, I will have to repaint the office, because what guy wants to work and bring people into a pink striped office with green doors and girly wallpaper? So, as I said in the previous post, I have some possible painting/redecorating to do. Which means I get to go shopping at Home Depot and Target! Whoo Hoo!
I can solve that problem in four words ... Me and My House...
