Back In The Saddle Again

The chilluns are back home again from their visit with Mimi and PaPa. Much fun was had by all. I think Mimi needed a day at the spa and a long nap after it was over. Top 10 Things I Observed While Childless For a Week:

• The salespeople in Ann Taylor and Dillards treat you with more courtesy and kindness when you don't have children with you. Which is bothersome to me because my kids don't act THAT bad in the mall. They are children after all, what do these people expect? And frankly when I see a family with mannerly, well-behaved children with no smiles on their faces, it disturbs me.
• The guy at the cookie place in the food court also looks at you differently when you order 3 snickerdoodles and a large Icee and there are no children with you.
• Staying up past 8:30 is really easy when you haven't had to chase down kids all day. One night I stayed up until 11:00! I felt like such the party animal!
• There really is no reason to cook when you don't have children at home. Dinner? Oh, just eat a handful of vanilla wafers and call it a done deal.
• I don't necessarily have to do all my errands first thing in the morning. I can go to Target at 2:30 in the afternoon because as much as I would like to, no one has to take a nap during that time.
• However, Target is alot less busy first thing in the morning.
• People without children must get really bored.
• Ebay is much more profitable this month because of my boredom.
• I missed my chilluns every. single. hour. they were away.
• And as much as I appreciate the occasional break, I could not live without them.
