Mrs. Egg Barometer
Coffee of the Day: Ice cold Dr. Pepper and leftover Panda Express chinese food.
Today's Mental Jukebox Selection: George Strait, "A fire I can't put out". I think because there was a gas well fire on the news this morning.
My New Favorite Thing: Seventh Generation dishwasher detergent. Because i'm a tree hugger that way.
Fun Weekend Happenings: went tire shopping, Target, Home Depot AND Lowe's.
Contemplating: making the girls some new nightgowns. Because I refuse to pay $15 for polyester itchy Disney princess nightgowns. And because Gymboree nightgowns are my favorite, but not on sale enough right now. So I will be crafty and thrify and make some. Right after I buy a "Sewing for Dummies" book.
Procrastinating: mopping the floor. Why do I have to mop every. single. day?
Project of the Day: finding a way to organize all these hair bows and ribbons so they are more accessible and, well, organized. Any ideas?
For Dinner Tonight: Beer can chicken. Kevin insisted on going $2.50 over our grocery budget this week to buy a beer can chicken stand. Has anyone ever cooked one? Are we bonafied rednecks now?
just come on down and I'll teach you to make those little gowns...what fun!
ReplyDeleteCam cooks the "drunk chickens" on occasion. They are actually quite tasty.
ReplyDeleteSeems like I remember my little girl having a quilted face with long braids for her ribbons and clips. That can be lesson two.
ReplyDeleteno. never cooked it. heard of beer can chicken tho.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know you had to buy a special stand. Geesh!!!
how does 7th generation work? I'm stuck on those little cascade 2 in 1 action pacs.
Our dishwasher sits for several days (just me and the hubby) ... and those things clean the best.
I have to second what MiMi said. I thought of the little braid girl too! I know I had one of those!
ReplyDeletePamela--I used the cascade pacs, too and I think 7th Generation works alot better. Of course, I run a load a day, so gunk doesn't have a chance to get stuck on the dishes.
ReplyDeleteFor the hair bows I take unfinished wood plaques (at Michaels), paint and monogram them, then staple gun ribbons of different widths to the back-wider ribbon for hairbows, smaller ribbon for clips, etc.
ReplyDeleteBeer can chicken is great! You can use a coke can if you prefer. The stand definitely helps.
(I linked here from Jennifer's site. If only I hadn't been coaching a tournament I would have been at her wedding too! Though I guess I would have only met your husband)
